The Road And You Together FAQ’s
How do I know if The Road and You Together is certified by West Virginia's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
While we do include The Road and You Together's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether The Road and You Together is certified by the State of West Virginia.  We recommend that you either contact The Road and You Together directly or possibly the West Virginia DMV to find out if The Road and You Together is a certified driver training school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving instructor in West Virginia, so taking a Martinsburg driving school course like the one The Road and You Together offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the West Virginia DMV or a licensed driving school like The Road and You Together and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I can't operate a stick-shift. Will The Road and You Together allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact The Road and You Together and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before enrolling in their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will The Road and You Together be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like The Road and You Together will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact The Road and You Together to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
Are 14-year-olds eligible to obtain a instruction permit in West Virginia?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school like The Road and You Together to find out what the minimum age for driving is in West Virginia.
Do I have to take a Martinsburg West Virginia classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course through The Road and You Together?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should ask The Road and You Together if they offer one or both programs.
I'm required to take a behind-the-wheel training course in Martinsburg West Virginia. Do you know if The Road and You Together offers driver training classes in Martinsburg West Virginia?
Yes, The Road and You Together does offer defensive driving courses in Martinsburg West Virginia.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their behind-the-wheel training courses, please contact The Road and You Together directly.
Exactly what type of driver training do I need in Martinsburg West Virginia before I can get my West Virginia driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to complete a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as The Road and You Together and ask if they offer a West Virginia-approved  driver training course which would satisfy West Virginia's driver's education requirements.
Do I have to take a Martinsburg West Virginia driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in West Virginia must enroll in an approved driver training course in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.  Please contact The Road and You Together for information on the types of driver training courses they offer in Martinsburg West Virginia.
Will West Virginia allow me to enroll in a driver training course before I actually get my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you receive your learner's permit before you enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course.
