Lane County Driving School FAQ’s
Can you tell me if Lane County Driving School is a licensed driving school in Oregon?
Although Lane County Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach hands-on driving courses in Oregon.  We recommend either calling Lane County Driving School directly or the Oregon DMV to find out whether or not Lane County Driving School offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Oregon, so taking a Springfield behind-the-wheel training course like the one Lane County Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Oregon DMV or a licensed driver training school like Lane County Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
Do I need to tell Lane County Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to operate a stick-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Lane County Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift car before you register for their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Lane County Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain area, chances are that a local driving school like Lane County Driving School will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Can I apply for my Oregon learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training school like Lane County Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Oregon.
Do you know if the laws in Oregon require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to take a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course.
Oregon's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Lane County Driving School offers this course or not?
Lane County Driving School does offer the driver training course that Oregon requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Lane County Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Lane County Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Oregon driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to sign up to take both a driver training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Oregon DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Am I required to take a Springfield Oregon driver training course?
All drivers in Oregon must take a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should contact Lane County Driving School to learn more about the courses they offer.
Do I need to have my learner's permit before I sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that Lane County Driving School offers?
You will need to contact Lane County Driving School or the Oregon DMV to find out if you are allowed to enroll in a driving school like Lane County Driving School before obtaining your Oregon learner's permit.
